This is the new curriculum we are offering this year for 7-12.
Omnibus is a Latin word that means all encompassing. Omnibus is also the name of a new course of study being offered at Grace, grades 7 - 12 for the next school year. This one course will cover history, literature and Bible from the beginning of time to the fall of Rome. The students will also further their skills in composition, logic and aesthetics.
“This program aims to cultivate and produce students who are culturally literate. This means becoming connected to and knowledgeable of the great traditions and thoughts of our forefathers. When you finish Omnibus, you will be equipped to stand on the shoulders of your forefathers looking further, reaching higher and adding to the wisdom of the past. The goal or destination of this course is to learn to reason well and communicated winsomely. The Great Books (the literature of western civilization) are the path along which we are going to run to reach that destination. 1
All disciplines are related to and under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We want our students to recognize the culture and worldview that affects every study they will endeavor and that they will be able to bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.
